Are you an experienced counsellor with BACP professional body membership with accreditation and have the skills to build a good relationship with university students diagnosed with mental health conditions?
This role is all short-term based interventions to encourage students on their path of self development and find solutions to manage their anxieties and stresses. Randstad is on the search for counsellors ready to join an exciting opportunity, working flexibly with university students on a remote basis providing counselling and mental health services on a one-one basis specific to the individual's needs.

1. £25.00 per hour
2. 28 holiday pay pro rata - approx. £3.37 on top of your hourly salary - perfect for the summer holidays and Christmas breaks
3. Counselling sessions expected to be 2 days per week, with 5 one hour sessions per day (with some variation based on your availability)
4. All counselling sessions are currently remote - so you can work from the comfort of your own home
5. Flexible working hours - you chose when you work
Responsibilities
6. Provide counseling support to students experiencing emotional and mental health issues based on their own unique needs.
7. Working 1:1 on certain issues such as transition, anxiety, self help, self-esteem, eating distress, procrastination and exam panic.
8. Empathising with the students over their personal and emotional needs while working alongside with the student to promote self help, using self help tools.
9. Following risk assessment and safeguarding escalation processes stated by both Randstad and the university the student attends
10. Maintaining a confidential approach at all times when working with the students or discussing any information with any other members of staff. Meeting all GDPR requirements
Requirements
11. Membership of BACP or UKCP (with accreditation)
12. Monthly clinical supervision in order to maintain your professional standards
13. DBS (we can run one for you)
Desirable
14. Keeping up to date with developments in your area of practice and contributing to improvements of operations in the team.
15. Experience of counselling in University setting and experience of caseload management.
16. Ability to triage student needs quickly and appropriately
17. Risk assessment and management skills
18. Able to work evenings
