The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
Projects typically range from £1m to £30m and include a mixture of new build, refurbishment, restoration and design & build schemes across Oxfordshire and the wider South East.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts and final accounts
* Preparing valuations, applications for payment and variations
* Cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
* Supporting procurement and tender processes
* Managing project cash flow and financial performance
* Working closely with site and project management teams
* Assisting with value engineering and risk management
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
* Supporting successful commercial delivery from inception through to completion
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
* Strong understanding of commercial management within construction
* Good working knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC beneficial)
* Experience on new build and/or refurbishment projects
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction xsngvjr Management
* Ambitious, organised and commercially aware
