Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join Woodlands, Falkirk Community Mental Health Team. The post offers development opportunities and supervision from senior Occupational Therapy staff.
The Mental Health Occupational Therapy service in Forth Valley works with health and social care colleagues to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for people with mental health difficulties. Therapists work with people open to the community mental health team to enable participation in daily life, improving health, independence and wellbeing. They provide evidence-based clinical assessment, intervention and advice to develop skills in everyday activities (occupations) within home, work and community environments. The service is innovative, with opportunities to collaborate on service improvement projects.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence-based clinical assessment, intervention and advice to develop an individual’s skills in daily life activities (occupations) within home, work and community settings.
* Work with people open to the community mental health team to enable participation in daily life, improving health, independence and wellbeing.
* Collaborate with health and social care colleagues to improve health outcomes and address inequalities for people with mental health difficulties in Forth Valley.
* Work alongside senior Occupational Therapy staff with supervision and support.
* Contribute to quality improvement projects and service development as part of an innovative Mental Health service in Forth Valley.
Qualifications and requirements
* BSc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
* Ability and willingness to travel throughout the service delivery area.
* Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required.
