We are looking for an experienced ventilation construction manager to join the team working on Hinkley Point C, the nuclear power station in Bridgwater, Somerset. Here you will support the development, delivery and execution of the mechanical ventilation System. This is an important senior construction role, for a large nuclear project.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
* Check the Works are constructed in accordance with the Contractor's Work Information and notify the Construction Superintendent of deviation and non-conformance request requirements.
• Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.
• Endeavour to identify potential Quality issues before they arrive to enable mitigating actions
• Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to prevent the halt of works
• Enhance the team with a good perspective of current and future site activities.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of contractual Technical Requirements, construction drawings, construction activities, Quality Control Plans and Quality Inspection Records
• Ensure and monitor that Quality Inspection Records are taken and agreed before Works are covered up
• Review Contractor performance against the authorised Quality Control Plan.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent) vocational training and significant experience or welding qualifications (or equivalent) vocational training and significant experience.
* Experience in Ventilation /installation of large Mechanical Equipment
* Broad knowledge and wide understanding of the materials, trades methods and legal requirements
* Broad knowledge of Quality Assurance Requirements (such as ISO9001)
* Excellent organisation and communication skills. Ability to work within a high performing team that continuously outperforms expectations and objectives
* Able to establish appropriate working relationships with contractors
