Vacancy: Pharmacy Technician
Are you a forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician, soon to qualify Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician, or currently undertaking a process to re-register as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC? Are you seeking the challenge of developing yourself further within your current role, delivering a high-quality, effective, and patient-focused service?
You will work in the Pharmacy Department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, as part of the pharmacy technical team. Your key responsibilities include supervising and training staff, prioritising and coordinating daily workload, managing pharmacy stocks, and ensuring the continuous availability of medicines for NHS Tayside patients. Your role will encompass Pharmacy Technician duties and rotations within the Pharmacy Distribution and Dispensing Centre (PDDC), Aseptic Dispensing Unit (ADU), Homecare, and clinical areas providing medicines management services.
You will support the pharmacy team to deliver effective services in line with key performance indicators.
Minimum Requirements
* Registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), or
* Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician due to qualify and register with the GPhC in 2025, or
* Undertaking a re-registration process as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
Applicants must be willing to train to undertake the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines or already possess a recognised accuracy checking qualification.
There will be opportunities for supported completion of the post-registration Vocational Framework for Pharmacy Technicians for personal and professional development.
Working Hours
Up to 37 hours over a 7-day week. Applications from those wishing to work part-time will be considered.
