The role
As a Senior Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your expertise will directly contribute to reducing costs, enhancing supplier performance, and delivering value across high-profile projects in the UK and internationally.
Day-to-day, you’ll play a key role in driving procurement excellence, leading supplier relationships, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs with precision and efficiency.
1. Act as the focal point for internal customers to define materials and services spend requirements for designated projects
2. Manage the Purchase Order process
3. Deliver operational excellence and reporting
4. Personally lead major supplier relationships dealing with performance issues to conclusion
5. Help develop the pipeline of future opportunities, harnessing relationships with key support partners
This role is full time 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Ashton Vale, Bristol on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Buyer
6. Proven experience in a procurement role ideally in a Defence or Engineering environment
7. Track record of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
8. Must be able to demonstrate excellent Supplier Relationship Management skills
Qualifications for the Senior Buyer
9. A recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience is advantageous
10. Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS is advantageous
