The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to guide Marcliffe through this exciting transformation. This is not just another leadership role: it is a chance to shape the future of a hotel that blends heritage and innovation, tradition and modern luxury.
As Managing Director, you will:
* Lead day-to-day operations across rooms, dining, spa, and events, ensuring world-class, five-star standards.
* Drive commercial performance through strategic sales, marketing, and financial leadership.
* Oversee major refurbishment and estate development projects with minimal disruption to guest experience.
* Inspire, develop, and retain a high-performing team culture built on excellence, accountability, and warmth.
* Champion Marcliffe’s role in the Aberdeen community, strengthening local connections and partnerships.
* Safeguard the hotel’s timeless charm while introducing innovative experiences for today’s luxury traveller.
About You
We are looking for a proven five-star hotel leader who brings both vision and authenticity. You will have:
* Senior leadership experience in luxury hospitality.
* A track record of delivering excellence during major investment, repositioning, or refurbishment projects.
* Commercial acumen with the ability to grow revenue and profit while protecting guest experience.
* Emotional intelligence and community-mindedness, able to build meaningful relationships locally and globally.
