ICT Services are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer, working on one of our customer sites in Ringaskiddy. This is a 1-year contract initially, with an extension available.
Responsibilities:
* Provide remote and desk side support services to end users.
* Troubleshoot PC related problems either via phone, remote tools or desk side support.
* Build, configure, and troubleshoot PC and laptop applications and hardware components.
* Be responsible for the day-to-day technical support and for the client environment.
* Install and configure new client hardware using global standards.
* Organize, schedule, communicate, and manage all logged calls across support teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Research and implement solutions promptly for software and hardware issues.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot network environment issues.
* Provide client support via phone, email, or chat.
* Prepare reports and document technical knowledge through notes and manuals.
* Manage purchase orders for IT equipment to maintain stock levels.
* Ensure client satisfaction and deliver high-quality customer service.
* Liaise with remote workplace services to resolve hardware issues.
* Update asset tracking database with hardware changes.
* Coordinate with local management on hardware needs.
* Support printers, scanners, and peripherals.
* Configure and distribute mobile phones and support mobile devices like iPads and iPhones.
Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year of relevant desktop support experience.
* Knowledge of hardware and software support.
* Basic understanding of network infrastructure, including patching and cabling.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication skills with customers and management.
