Role Responsibilities:
The successful Year 5 Teacher will:
* Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum
* Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 5 teacher and the wider KS2 team to ensure consistent and effective teaching
* Use formative and summative assessments to track pupil progress and inform future planning
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and those working at greater depth
* Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment that fosters respect, independence, and curiosity
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
* Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and wider school life, including enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5 or upper KS2
* Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment practices
* A reflective and forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning
* Excellent communication, organisational, and teamworking skills
* A commitment to inclusive practice and raising achievement for all pupils
* High expectations for behaviour, effort, and pupil outcomes
