Job Description: Deputy Team Leader Strategic Applications Who You Are You are a Principal Planner with a proven track record in handling complex, large-scale developments. You possess at least 5 years of experience in development management and have several years of experience dealing with complex and strategic developments. You have a comprehensive understanding of planning and development issues affecting London, including local government operations, legislation, and development plan policies. You should have strong leadership and supervisory capabilities and be able to deputize for the Team Leader effectively. What the Job Involves The role involves making significant contributions to the borough's regeneration through innovative development proposals in line with the Havering Local Plan. You'll deputize for the Team Leader, managing the determination of 100 strategic planning applications annually, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. Responsibilities include income generation through pre-application enquiries, negotiating financial contributions, and providing high-quality pre-application advice. You’ll represent the Council in meetings, support the diversity agenda, and oversee budget and staff management within the Strategic Applications team.
