Depot Manager – Swindon / 5 days out of 7
Rapier Employment is looking for a Depot Manager to support our well-known client based in Swindon.
Job: Depot Manager
Pay: £40,000 per annum
Days: 40 hours per week – 5 out of 7 days
Hours: Monday to Friday hours 09:00 – 17:30. Flexibility required as there are morning & afternoon shifts
Job includes:
* To advise/teach staff on safe and proper operating procedures, relevant checks, etc.
* Maintain accurate staff and vehicle records.
* To assess and support the warehouse.
* Ensure that all fleet and driver records are compliant with all aspects of DVSA.
* People management, such as performance reviews, staff development, disciplinary, and grievance handling.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
* Logistics operations and management.
* Be able to demonstrate the ability to cope in challenging situations.
* Work accurately, with good attention to details.
Experience:
* Previous experience of working as site manager, shift manager, or team manager.
* Experience of managing or working in a warehouse or distribution environment, along with a deep understanding of transport and compliance.
* Effective communication skills and proven ability to motivate and manage a team of people.
* IT literate with knowledge or WMS systems.
* Ability to produce, understand, and report on operational performance information.
* Focused on always delivering excellent service to all customers.
* Able to cope with change and manage own workload and priorities.
* Able to deliver results and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, HR legislation, and good practice.
Requirements:
* CPC qualified
