Position Details
Location: Sussex Campus Hospital
Status: Full Time, 80 Hours
Shift: Days
Salary Range: $37.07 - $57.47 hourly
Job Summary
Perform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with appropriate skill; in a timely and dependable manner, following current standards of care and departmental/hospital policies. Provide age-specific care to patients of all ages. Serve as a professional resource to physicians, nursing staff, and all other hospital staff.
Responsibilities
1. Accurately perform all echocardiogram studies ordered by physicians, including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress, and pharmacological echocardiography.
2. Perform IV contrast administration and agitated saline bubble studies.
3. Perform other cardiac diagnostic studies such as EKG, Holter prep, monitoring, analysis, and Cardiac stress tests.
4. Utilize mechanical devices to provide diagnostic information, including echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, Holter monitors, and computer analysis.
5. Assess hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and billing of studies.
6. Implement infection control practices and demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection.
7. Interact with students and provide clinical guidance as per agreements.
8. Perform cardiac diagnostic tests following age-specific guidelines, especially with neonatal and pediatric patients.
9. Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED
* Basic Life Support certification
* Registered Cardiac Sonographer or RDCS through ARDMS
* Successful completion of certification and/or two years hands-on echocardiography experience; extensive experience preferred, especially with pediatric and neonatal echocardiography.
