Clinical Pharmacist Band 6 to 7 Progression
A motivated and enthusiastic individual is invited to join our expanding pharmacy team, which includes Independent Prescribers and Consultant Pharmacists, to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across community health and mental health specialities.
We welcome applications from newly qualified, Band 6 or equivalent pharmacists. Hospital and/or mental health experience is desirable but not essential, as in‑house training will be provided. Applicants may be employed directly at a Band 7 level if they demonstrate the necessary skills and experience.
The role is largely patient‑facing and focuses on developing robust clinical skills to manage comorbid presentations through a rotational programme. The base is Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford, with periodic travel to other NELFT sites as required.
Supported by a clinical supervisor, you will deliver services including ward rounds, patient counselling and responding to clinical queries across the following settings:
* Community Health Services: inpatient frailty wards, hospital discharge services and specialist community services such as stroke rehabilitation, diabetes, respiratory and palliative care.
* Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Services: inpatient wards, Psychiatric Liaison Services, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Forensic Services, Learning Disabilities, Perinatal Mental Health, Home Treatment Teams and Community Mental Health Teams.
* Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in both inpatient and community settings.
You should be proactive in developing and using your clinical skills and knowledge to improve care through efficient medicines optimisation. Opportunities for teaching, quality improvement and postgraduate study are available.
We embed core values of kindness, respect and community collaboration across NELFT. New starters receive a comprehensive induction at our head office in Rainham, Essex, including mandatory training, system training and equipment allocation.
Probationary period applies, unless you are an internal applicant exempt from it. The post also attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part‑time).
