Role Summary
SUEZ is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our recycling and recovery processes. The incumbent will maintain equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and servicing of processing, recycling and recovery plant and machinery.
* Ensure plant installations and modifications meet current standards and regulatory requirements.
* Assess and diagnose mechanical faults, and advise supervisors on corrective actions.
* Complete repairs using safe systems of work and following all Health & Safety policies.
* Support continuous improvement by helping identify maintenance and reliability enhancements.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or a completed Engineering Apprenticeship.
* Mechanical Engineering background, preferably in manufacturing, production engineering, waste management or a similar maintenance environment.
* Hands‑on knowledge of equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics; basic electrical fault‑finding beneficial.
* City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations; IOSH desirable, training can be provided.
