Transport Clerk (Widnes, Cheshire) People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join our well-established client based in Widnes, Cheshire. Shifts • Night shift • 22:00 – 06:00 Rates of Pay: £13.79 per hour Benefits • Free on-site parking • Fully equipped on-site canteen • Potential for permanent placement • Weekly pay • Supportive and friendly working environment Day-to-Day Duties • Coordinate driver start/finish times and ensure all shifts are adequately covered • Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately • Monitor vehicle movements and update systems with live information • Manage route and load allocation in line with operational requirements • Ensure compliance with WTD, drivers’ hours, and tachograph regulations • Log trailer numbers, vehicle defects, and report issues to relevant teams • Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, planners, and management • Handle PODs, delivery notes, and ensure documentation is stored correctly Essential Skills • Similar experience desirable • Admin/clerical experience desirable • Strong customer service and communication skills • Positive attitude and willingness to work flexibly Desirable Experience • Previous experience within a similar role Training Provided • Assessment required prior to first shift • Full industry-related training provided with ongoing support throughout Contact: If you’re ready to take on this exciting opportunity as a Transport Clerk, apply today by clicking the link below or contact our recruitment team for more information.
