An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Trehopcyn Primary School, a thriving school community in the village of Hopkinstown.
Trehopcyn Primary School is a happy and successful primary school with a strong caring and inclusive ethos situated in the heart of the community. The school currently has 110 pupils on roll split across 4 classes, including a full time Nursery.
The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated, and excellent practitioner who is ready to take up the challenge and become an integral part of our school community. The successful applicant needs to have a passion for Early Years and Foundation Learning and be dedicated to providing a forward-thinking approach to Early Years Education.

We are seeking an outstanding Foundation Learning classroom teacher who is passionate about nurturing and inspiring our youngest learners within a caring, forward-thinking environment. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through high-quality Foundation Learning practice, while also demonstrating the flexibility to teach across other year groups in a small school setting.
A strong understanding of, or experience in, supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is essential, alongside a compassionate, inclusive approach that ensures every child can thrive.
The ideal candidate will:
•Be an outstanding Foundation Learning practitioner with high expectations for all learners, including behaviour and achievement
•Demonstrate strong knowledge and application of the Curriculum for Wales, with a clear understanding of early childhood pedagogy and skills development and have the ability to apply these effectively within a mixed-age Foundation Learning class in a small primary school
•Take pride in their learning environment and strive to maintain a high standard of presentation and care in all they do.
•Use ICT confidently and creatively to enhance learning experiences.
•Have excellent skills in Assessment for Learning (AfL) and be committed to personalising learning to meet individual needs.
•Build warm, positive relationships with pupils and demonstrate a strong commitment to their well-being and nurture.
•Communicate effectively and work in partnership with staff, parents, governors, and the wider community.
•Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives.
•Be actively involved in the wider life of the school and show a desire for continual professional development.
•An interest in Humanities and Religion, Values and Ethics (RVE), with confidence to support staff and enrich these areas of learning across the school.
