Role: Setting Out / Section Engineer (Heavy Civils) Contract Duration: 6 Months Initial (Extension likely based on project milestones) Project: Power Plant Construction – Middlesbrough Rate: Inside IR35 - Umbrella The Mission We are looking for a precision-driven Section Engineer and a high-accuracy Setting Out Engineer to join a flagship power plant project. We need engineers who understand the complexity of heavy industrial foundations, massive reinforced concrete (RC) structures, and the tight tolerances of structural steelwork. Key Responsibilities Precision Setting Out: Use Leica/Trimble total stations and GPS to provide millimetre-accurate points for heavy RC foundations and steel bolt sets. Technical Oversight: (Section Level) Manage sub-contractors, oversee quality control (QA), and ensure work aligns with the Master Installation Plan. Heavy Civils Execution: Lead/Support the delivery of deep drainage, massive concrete pours, and complex structural frames. Compliance & Safety: Maintain impeccable RFI logs and RAMS. On a power plant site, "safety first" isn't a slogan; it’s the permit to work. As-Builts: Produce accurate as-built surveys and quality handover packs. Requirements: Proven experience in Heavy Civils. If you haven't worked on RC frames or major industrial steelwork, this won't be the right fit. Proficient with EDM/Total Stations (TS16/TS60) and AutoCAD for data extraction Qualifications: BEng/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent. CSCS Card (Gold/White/Black) is mandatory. SMSTS or SSSTS (Preferred for Section Engineer level)
