THE COMPANY
This business designs and builds temporary structures for events, music festivals, sporting occasions, exhibitions, pop-up installations, advertising, as well as permanent to semi-permanent spaces. They work on exciting events such as Cannes Lions and F1!
With expertise in architectural design and steelwork, they collaborate with clients to create custom structures that align with their conceptual ideas.
THE ROLE
As the Head of Build, you will manage the fit-out of structures to client specifications, working closely with the Production team to deliver on client briefs. This involves meticulous planning for materials and resources throughout all stages of build, installation, and derig. Throughout the season, you will balance upcoming project builds with the installation of live projects, ensuring the warehouse operates smoothly to support future projects while maintaining high standards.
Your responsibilities will include overall management of the warehouse, seasonal resourcing, stock and materials management, strict adherence to Health & Safety standards during the build process, and quality assurance on all structures. You will also work on solutions for process improvements where necessary.
This role involves working closely with Directors to develop the event build department, improve processes, coordinate with senior workshop team members, and ensure high standards in project delivery.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing the build team, including line management
* Liaising with project managers, carpenters, etc., to collate set lists and pass them to the workshop team
* Managing the preparation process of equipment
* Maintaining high standards of health and safety
* Providing input on construction design and material specifications for custom scenic elements
* Researching new materials, products, and equipment, and advising on investments
* Health & Safety Management
THE CANDIDATE
To be considered, you must have experience in the build process of structures/scenic builds within the events industry, including resource management. A proven track record of managing complex builds, strategic build management, resource management, and on-site leadership is essential.
