Inclusion Learning Support required for a Mainstream Secondary School in Worthing

About the job
This learning support mentor will work as a member of the Inclusion Team, to support the Year Curriculum Leader and Key Stage Managers within the school. The overall responsibility of the postholder is to provide pastoral support to pupils and assist the teachers in implementing an individual's educational healthcare plan. They will also develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with pupils and provided support on this basis. With a particular focus on supporting young people who present with sometimes more challenging behaviours and/or SEMH needs)
The Support Mentor will be committed to inclusion and working successfully with young people to foster a safe, stimulating, and structured setting where all pupils can thrive.
About you
* Experience in schools or social work is an advantage
* This role will suit someone who has a well‑developed understanding of strategies to manage and support young people, some with challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will be able to remain calm and think clearly. The role involves leading and working alongside a team to deliver the best outcomes for our young people.
