The Best Connection Oxford are looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver (Wagon & Drag) for our client based in Abingdon!

Expected Hours: 45 hours per week + overtime opportunities at time and a half!
As a Class 1 driver, you will be responsible for driving their Wagon & Drag vehicles and working closely with the Trackway crew to install and recover mats across the UK. You will work in a two- or three-person team, often in remote locations, and will spend nights away in your truck (without sharing accommodation). This role involves both driving and hands-on work with heavy equipment, making it a dynamic and physically active role.
Drive HGV Class 1 Wagon & Drag vehicles across the UK, ensuring safe and timely transport of equipment.
Operate heavy equipment (such as cranes) or be willing to train to do so.
Assist with mat installation/removal and ensure readiness for transport.
Work flexibly across day, night, and occasional weekend shifts.
Travel nationwide and work away from home (Monday - Friday).
Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence (essential).
Ability to operate heavy equipment (crane) or willingness to undergo training.
Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home during the week.
Experience in construction or Transmission & Distribution (T&D) preferred.
CSCS card desirable but not essential - full training provided.
00 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half.
