We are currently looking for a Lifting Engineer to join our busy Tamworth depot-based workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly skilled engineering team where no two days are the same. You will have overall responsibility for the testing, maintenance and repair of our lifting hire equipment, ensuring it is safe, compliant and ready to support our customers. You will play a key role in the customer journey, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards and that our customers receive an outstanding service. From time to time, you may also be required to attend customer sites to carry out breakdowns, servicing and inspections, particularly for equipment on long-term hire contracts. Your day-to-day will include: Carrying out thorough testing, servicing, inspection and repair of lifting equipment in line with LOLER and other relevant legislation. Diagnosing faults efficiently and completing repairs to a high standard. Maintaining accurate service and inspection records using our internal systems. Ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant and fit for hire before it is released back into service. Attending customer sites when required to carry out breakdowns, inspections and servicing. Maintaining excellent standards of health, safety and housekeeping within the workshop and on site. Working collaboratively with depot, operations and logistics teams to maximise equipment availability. Delivering excellent customer service and representing Speedy in a professional and positive manner at all times. Strong knowledge and experience of hydraulics and mechanical equipment. A proactive approach to health and safety, with a strong understanding of workshop and site safety standards. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong work ethic and a “can do” attitude. The ability to think on your feet and solve problems efficiently.
