This is an exciting opportunity for a current Head, Assistant Head or Senior Leader in an Independent School to take the next step in their career path and continue to shape the direction of our high achieving Prep School. We are looking for someone with vision, energy and proven leadership skills to manage the school and direct a team of very talented teachers, a Director of Learning and a Deputy Head Teacher and supporting staff. The successful candidate will head up the school leadership team to ensure the school continues to build upon its current achievements and has a clear and purposeful development plan to ensure ongoing academic excellence and growth throughout all key stages. A passion for teaching and learning and understanding of the 11+ academic demands is essential.
This position would suit an exceptional and inspirational Assistant Head Teacher with leadership experience and with some proven management experience who has a professional drive to move onto headship in the future.
Key Areas of Responsibility (Refer to Job Description for wider role):
* To lead and manage the school with clear and achievable goals for success.
* To provide professional leadership and management of teaching and learning throughout the whole school.
* To understand professional duties of the Headteacher.
* To ensure all relevant policies and procedures are fully compliant with ISI regulations and standards.
* To coach, mentor and model to colleagues and provide feedback as part of the school’s appraisal system.
* To promote and safeguard the welfare of the children and staff.
* To advise, report to and be accountable for all school business to the Governing Board.

2nd stage interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place Monday 12 January 2026 4.30-6.30pm
