Role responsibilities
To identify business requirements and translate them into data analysis tasks to make data and information accessible to the business to inform decisions that will drive successful business outcomes
1. Development and delivery of reporting dashboards and visualisations working in collaboration with other business teams, to allow for clear operational views of the business, using PowerBI or similar tools
2. Development of data engineering workflows by collaboration with the Data Engineering team to produce datasets for reporting, adhoc queries, and investigations
3. Identifying data errors, inconsistencies, and potential problems between systems or with business processes in collaboration with the Data Steward (FandG) to identify opportunities for improvement in systems and processes to drive simplification of data at source and reduce complexity in downstream processing activities
4. Ensuring that data sources, business processes, reports and processing activities are documented, and that we hold and use data in ways that meet or exceed our regulatory and legal requirements for privacy and security by mapping data flows and maintaining a record of processing activities to ensure TfW is legally/regulatory complaint, understands the data they hold and how it flows through the business, improve data quality and accuracy, operationally efficient, manage data risk, streamline processes, reduce costs and ensures that decision makers are using reliable and consistent data
5. Support of system migration and change activities with data cleanup and checking by working with the project team to deliver data clean-up/validation activities to ensure the success, reliability, and long-term value of the new system
6. Support Configuration of processes in with the project team by documenting the process maps in readiness for the testing cycles that will then become the formalised business as usual process for when the implementation will be handed over to the business for the GO live phase that will ensure the system processes are operating effectively.
Who we’re looking for
7. Degree in Maths, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or similar or equivalent professional experience demonstrating the ability to work and think in an analytical manner
8. Visual communication skills with experience of developing clear and easily-understood graphics, charts and dashboards utilising business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and experience of SQL, Python, or DAX
9. An understanding of good data governance and relevant legislation (UK GDPR etc)
10. Planning and organisation skills, having the ability to prioritise and be flexible to react to changes and updates.
11. Experience of analysing and explaining complex information both verbally and in written reports and of quantitative and qualitative data
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
