Rare opportunity for a Capex Project Manager based at a large manufacturing site near Maidstone, Kent. Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.30. 18 month contract offering great salary and benefits.
This heavy process engineering site is part of a global recycling / packaging manufacturing group.
The Capex Project Manager will support the execution of the site strategic plan by implementing in a Safe, Compliant and professional manner complex medium to large capital projects >£10M. The projects take place on a continuous operating facility, which requires close interaction with different stakeholders and suppliers to guarantee good quality, on time delivery and no impact to production. A good understanding of the operation will be needed; therefore the individual will need to have a strong interest and skill to quickly learn new concepts.
* Manage a team of engineers and specialists (eg mechanical, controls, civil) from proposal and budget, through design and installation to training and commissioning of project concepts.
* Produce schematics and proposals for such projects required by the Company.
* Navigate effectively Group admin requirements for Capex approvals.
* Produce detailed cost estimates for execution of revenue or capital projects.
* Define scope of supply with sufficient pre-engineering work to support accurate project costings.
* Specify and check drawings required for production of components and installation of all equipment in the project, and technical supervision of designers/consultants.
* Programming of steps, preliminary through to installation work, i.e drawings, ordering, manufacture and progress reports.
* Guarantee world-class Health & Safety practices from design and implementation to operation.
* Programming supervision of project site work, co-ordinating trades and activities.
* Take responsibility for all work on site of installation, including supervision of contractors and mill personnel.
* Co-ordination of commissioning with operations team
* Work closely with Purchasing function to follow compliance protocols and define the best guarantees and contract details for the project.
* Issue of operating instructions, documentation and manuals.
* Liaison with Production and Maintenance departments and the Executive Committee.
* Financial control of project – maintain budget and ensure best value at all times.
* Compliance with all legislation relevant to project work e.g. CDM requirements.
Qualifications and Experience for
* Previous Project Management Experience in projects >10 M£
* Contractor Control experience
* Track record of previous large projects undertaken
* Qualification in Engineering discipline
* Project Management qualification
* Health and Safety Qualification
