About the role…

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team, working on our Yorkshire Water account.

This is a permanent role and will include a home working and office-based split, based from Brighouse.

What will your day look like…

Supporting the Commercial Team to ensure full compliance with Avove systems, processes, and commercial procedures

Working to strict internal and contractual deadlines, including those set out in Framework Agreements and NEC contracts

Assisting with the creation, monitoring, and financial reporting of subcontract orders, ensuring accurate cost control

Supporting the Commercial Lead in managing project costs, including preparation of financial statements and weekly/monthly reports

Assisting in the procurement and administration of construction contracts and the ongoing management of subcontractors

Collating and maintaining accurate commercial records, including variations, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts

Working closely with internal stakeholders and project teams to support payment applications, subcontractor administration, and commercial close-out of contracts

About you…

Experience within the utilities sector would be advantageous but is not essential. A relevant degree qualification, or working towards RICS or an equivalent professional accreditation, is desirable, along with knowledge or experience of working under Framework Agreements and NEC3 or NEC4 contracts. You will be a strong relationship builder with a customer-focused approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage your time effectively, work to strict deadlines, and collaborate successfully within a team.

What’s in it for you…

We offer a rewarding salary that is tailored to your skills and experience. But that’s not all! We celebrate hard work and give recognition to our colleagues. In addition to this, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all so everyone has access to a variety of flexible benefits that work for you.

• 24 days holiday plus bank holidays

• Company pension scheme

• Life assurance

• Family friendly policies

• A selection of lifestyle benefit options

• Financial wellbeing programme

• Employee assistance program for health and wellbeing and onsite mental health first aiders to support our colleagues

• We love to give back so we offer you volunteering days in your community and charity matched giving where we will boost your fundraising.
