Who We’re Looking For Applications are welcomed from all backgrounds. The ideal candidate will:
6. Be duty-qualified or hold Higher Rights (advantageous but not essential)
7. Possess a strong academic record
8. Have a genuine interest in criminal defence law
9. Demonstrate excellent client relationship and communication skills
10. Be committed to access to justice and delivering first-class client service
The Role As part of the Crime Department, you will:
11. Prepare and manage criminal defence cases from investigation to trial
12. Advise clients at police stations, Magistrates’, and Crown Courts
13. Prepare appeals to higher courts as needed
14. Participate in the out-of-hours rota
15. Build and maintain an own client following
16. Handle both legal aid and private client work
17. Work independently and collaboratively as required
