1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Ashington to recruit a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional learning needs.
This role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support to help the pupil access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and the school SENCO to provide tailored support within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs.
2. Assist the pupil with classwork, learning activities, and engagement in lessons.
3. Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans.
4. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
5. Adapt learning activities where necessary to meet the pupil’s needs.
6. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
7. Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Requirements
8. Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or coaching).
9. A patient, supportive, and nurturing approach.
10. Good communication and teamwork skills.
11. A passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
12. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
