Job Overview

We are welcoming applications for a full–time Practice Lead post. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cannock Adult Social Care Community Teams. The successful candidate will work closely with other Practice Leads and the Operational Service Delivery Lead (OSDL) to develop a responsive service for service users, carers, and the ASC community teams.


Main Duties of the Job

The role requires qualities such as commitment, resilience, enthusiasm, effective communication, and strong decision-making skills. We seek a dynamic individual committed to professional development, capable of leading an experienced Community Team. The work is varied, challenging, and involves working with a diverse demographic, offering broad professional experience.

There is a focus on professional development, promoting strengths-based practice, and an opportunity to develop leadership skills in a supportive environment. The successful applicant will work closely with the Leadership Team and will be supported in managing performance, budgets, and team development. The role requires an experienced practitioner with in-depth knowledge of safeguarding, complex case management, crisis response, and a passion for supporting team development and promoting excellent practice.

Essential Criteria

* Qualified and Registered Social Work Practitioner
* Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
* Social Work Post Qualifying Award
* AMHP or BiA status or willingness to work towards
* Ongoing professional development evidence


Desirable Criteria

* Postgraduate qualification in management/leadership
* Leadership or organisational development training


Experience


Essential

* Leadership role in NHS or Local Authority
* Managing social work services or complex projects
* Leading service development and change management


Desirable

* Knowledge of local commissioning and provider context
* Teaching social work at undergraduate/postgraduate levels
