Job Description
Your new company
Our client is a specialist facilities service provider delivering services across a commercial portfolio in the UK. They are hiring an Area Manager to oversee operations at sites of specialist housing (not social housing or care homes) in and around Aldershot.
Your new role
As Area Manager, you will support the Regional Operations Manager in managing repairs, compliance, voids, and grounds maintenance for residential properties. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards, achieving performance targets, and prioritizing health and safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
You will oversee void services and reactive maintenance, ensuring safety compliance and meeting performance and budget goals. Managing subcontractors, streamlining processes, and delivering value for money while upholding quality standards will be key. You will have profit and loss responsibility, monitor budgets, analyze trends, and implement operational improvements.
Your leadership will foster a culture of support and excellence within your team of 8, including 4 direct reports: a Delivery Manager, an Administrator, and 2 Voids Maintenance Officers. You will collaborate with key stakeholders and participate in business improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will receive training to become the Responsible Person for Legionella and asbestos compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
Successful candidates will have a strong operational background in property maintenance, preferably within housing, though this is not essential. Key requirements include experience in repairs, voids, compliance, and maintenance services, effective supply chain management, stakeholder engagement, and contract management experience. Experience as a Responsible Person and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are desirable.
What you'll get in return
The role offers a permanent contract with a growing FM service provider, with benefits including:
* Up to £60,000 salary
* Company car or allowance
* 25 days leave plus bank holidays
* 6% matched pension
* Private healthcare
