This is a part-time role, across 4 days a week. The position combines financial administration with some legal secretary responsibilities.


About us

We are a boutique Private Client firm conveniently located just south of the A47, on the outskirts of Norwich. We maintain a deliberately low profile (we do not have a website), and offer a bespoke service to our clients, mainly High/Ultra High Net Worth individuals based around the UK; trusts and charities; and private family offices. Our services include Wills and Tax Planning; the formation and administration of family trusts and grant making charitable trusts; Powers of Attorney; and Estate administration. We have worked for several of our clients over many years (both within the current firm and in previous firms) - new clients are acquired through personal recommendations from established clients and professional contacts.


Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial activities for the office, as well as supporting with general administrative duties as a Legal Secretary.


Responsibilities

* Financial duties including reconciling bank accounts, VAT returns, cash flow management, and monthly management accounts.
* All transactions posted in date order to ledgers.
* Prepare accruals & prepayments schedules and post to nominal ledgers (last day of month).
* Work in progress & depreciation journals.
* Billing and related administrative duties.
* General office duties such as photocopying and filing.
* Type and complete legal forms, set up documents; prepare, check, and proofread correspondence.
* Excellent audio typing skills.


Requirements / Candidates

* Highly organised with the ability to multitask.
* Experience with solicitor accounts and recording systems (e.g., Quill).
* Bookkeeping experience including producing accounts to trial balance, reconciling accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication with a good telephone manner.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work well in a team or independently.
* Advantageous if you have proven experience as a Legal Secretary in a professional law firm.
