The Employee Relations team delivers proactive, flexible support to colleagues and managers, driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company policies and employment legislation.
Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the People Relations team across Retail and Gym establishments, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and flexible working.
* Act as a team player and share knowledge and expertise with the wider People team.
* Assist with general ad‑hoc people relations administration, communicating effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
* Arrange People Relations meetings with managers, compose correspondence using standardised business formats with clear attention to detail.
* Understand the Group’s statutory responsibilities such as maternity/paternity policies and assist managers and colleagues with queries.
* Provide best practice advice in line with employment law legislation and ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Maintain clear audit trails for all People records in accordance with data privacy regulations.
* Work autonomously, prioritise tasks and receive guidance from the wider People Relations team.
* Support execution of critical monthly and annual HR/People processes within relevant time scales.
* Deal with high‑volume caseloads and routine administrative duties in line with agreed SLA’s.
* Assist with project work when required.
Skills and Experience
* Working towards or Level 3 CIPD qualified or equivalent experience in a similar retail HR/People environment.
* Good communication skills with the ability to guide, influence and challenge practices appropriately.
* Able to manage queries empathetically and communicate clearly and articulately with all stakeholders throughout the business.
* Comfortable minute‑taking in formal meetings to document interactions accurately.
* Proficient knowledge of Office365 and HRIS; experience of Dayforce is advantageous.
* Accurate typing skills with attention to detail.
* Proven experience of working within a constantly changing environment.
* Flexible to work outside of standard office hours if required to support a 24/7 operation.
