Role Overview
We manage the design development on 80% of our projects, subsequently our design coordinators play a key role within our project team that keep design progressing between consultants and key subcontractors, raising RFIs and resolving queries that can potentially delay design progress. Our design co-ordinator will lead and co-ordinate key design activities during the pre-construction, mobilisation and construction phases. A day in the life of a Britcon Design Coordinator can include:
· Arranging design team meetings and design workshops with consultants and subcontractors
· Coordinating design team queries, review incoming information and raise RFIs
· Managing the quality assurance process and cross-referencing construction information against ERs
· Developing value engineering solutions and considering the efficiency and suitability of design proposals
· Understanding the fundamentals of CDM regulations 2015 and The Building Safety Act 2022
· Considering design responsibilities, risk reduction and how this translates to quality design
· Excellent communication skills to confidently represent Britcon in design meetings and stakeholder interactions
A Britcon Design Coordinator will ideally have the following
· A degree or equivalent technical qualification in construction management, architecture, architectural technology or other relevant design/construction field.
· CSCS card
· A minimum of 2 years, experience working across RIBA stages 4 and 5.
· Knowledge and understanding of UK building regulations and Fire Safety Legislation
· Previous experience working in construction or architecture.
· Clean and valid driving licence
