About the Role: We're looking for a skilled and experienced Mental Health Crisis & Safeguarding Lead to join our team at Stepping Stones Supported Living.
In this role, you'll support our services by helping staff respond to mental health incidents, creating safety plans, and working with professionals like social workers and crisis teams. You'll also help make sure that people with complex needs get the right support in a safe and caring way.
Main Responsibilities: Help staff during mental health incidents (such as self-harm or suicidal thoughts)
Work with mental health teams, social services, and emergency services
Support safeguarding decisions and help with risk plans
Create safety plans and tools to manage mental health risks
Attend meetings with other professionals to plan care
Help train and support staff to respond to mental health needs
Lead on planning for new or high-risk placements
What We're Looking For: Essential:
Experience working in mental health crisis services (e.g. NHS, social care, charity sector)
Good understanding of mental health law and safeguarding
Able to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions
Confident working with other professionals and services
Experience supporting people with complex needs
Strong written and communication skills
Able to work independently and visit different sites
Desirable:
Background in mental health (e.g. RMN, Social Worker, Psychology Practitioner)
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Experience supporting staff wellbeing
