OverviewNephos Technologies is a specialist data services integrator, focused on helping organisations solve problems around data storage, data management and data security with integrated innovative solutions to high profile clients.About the jobWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced network engineer to join and be an integral member of our team, to provide support and project assistance on enterprise scale infrastructure and systems delivered to clients, such as high-performance storage arrays, networking, and physical equipment across several Data Centers.Role responsibilitiesWork as part of a team to support the delivery of customer networks, including systems monitoring, issue resolution, proactive maintenance, and improvement initiatives.Take ownership of Incident and Problem records, apply technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to methodically handle investigation activities, identify issues, restore services as quickly as possible and maintain up to date/accurate recordsTake ownership of Service and Project Requests to fulfil these whilst maintaining up to date/accurate recordsManage Change records alongside issue resolution, infrastructure maintenance and improvement initiatives, whilst attending the weekly Change Advisory Board where neededIdentify technology, network, security, or process improvements for standardisation, streamlining or automation opportunities where possibleWork with other cross-functional teams within Nephos, such as Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Project Managers to help deliver end to end client onboarding activities and system solutionsCreate and maintain up to date standard processes in your area of expertise, to help build a culture for sharing information and developing othersParticipate in the on call 24/7 support rota to respond and manage Incidents accordingly, including root cause analysisExperience/SkillsCCNP or equivalent in Data Centre related networking5+ years hands on experience managing large networks, including design, installation, configuration, upgrades and troubleshootingExperience of network technologies, including but not limited to Cisco and or Linux networkingStrong knowledge of data center switching and routing design, including VXLAN and EVPNStrong demonstratable understanding of network routing protocols including BGP and OSPFUnderstanding of WAN/LAN, network monitoring, firewalls, both IPv4 and IPv6 etcExperience of using configuration management tools such as Ansible or other similar technologiesExperience of network monitoring and logging tools such as Zabbix, Grafana or other similar technologiesDemonstratable experience of Linux OS systems such as Centos or UbuntuExperience of enterprise scale storage systems (file access protocols) – advantageousExperience of cloud platforms, such as AWS and/or Azure – advantageousExperience in automation technologies and programming languages – advantageousStrong customer centric attitude and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectivelyFlexible, organised, and self-motivatedWillingness and ability to drive to Data Centers in the South of England when required.Legally able to work in the UKWhat we can offerYour benefits include, but are not limited to:A competitive salary of up to £50K per annum depending on experienceHoliday allowance starting at 25 days plus bank and public holidays, and the opportunity to buy and sell 5 days holidayCompany laptop and mobile providedCar mileage allowance paid on Data Centre visitsOn call allowance and paid overtimeHealth insurance which includes annual dental and vision allowanceHealth assured (employee assistance programme) includes access to counselling serviceTravel support if over 100 miles away from the office!Hybrid working from day 13% yearly performance-related bonus2 Social Impact days per year for volunteeringFun company and team social events once a monthWe love birthdays - receive a special gift!Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leaveOpportunity to work in the fastest growth area in the IT sales landscape – DataPersonalised career road map and continuous developmentRecognition awards including employee of the month prize and annual awards awarding £4000 to spend on a holiday!
