The Catering and Hospitality curriculum at Buxton is designed to be learner-focused, offering a wide array of courses that cater to diverse learner needs. Students benefit from hands-on experience in state-of-the-art kitchens and a commercial bistro, both equipped to mirror the modern hospitality industry. At the heart of our offering are City & Guilds-accredited NVQ/VRQ Levels 1, 2, and 3 qualifications in Food Preparation and Cooking, which are highly regarded within the hospitality sector.


About the Role

We are a small and successful team looking to recruit an individual to teach on our Catering and Hospitality courses on an hourly paid basis. You will deliver exceptional teaching for Level 1, 2, and 3 qualifications.

With our seven industry-standard kitchens and our brand-new Harpurs Bistro, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and the opportunity to inspire the next generation of culinary professionals.

For the current academic year, the position will involve teaching, assessing, and providing support for front-of-house bistro service across a 3-day schedule.

Actual hours and days will be described in a ‘Schedule of Work’.

Salary : £24.59 per teaching hour in vocational FE for unqualified teachers or £26.53 per teaching hour in vocational FE for qualified teachers


About You

As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to maintaining our excellent teaching standards, supporting learner progression, and helping students achieve their professional goals. Organised and adaptable, you’re confident working both independently and as part of a small team. You have well-developed administrative skills, excellent time management, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Holding (or working towards) a recognised teaching qualification, you’re ready to share your expertise, support learner progression, and uphold the highest standards in teaching and learning.
