Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (ARRS)

Join to apply for the Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (ARRS) role at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

Carnforth and Milnthorpe Primary Care Network (PCN) is excited to announce an opportunity for two part‑time mental health practitioners to join our dedicated and dynamic team. Located on the picturesque border of North Lancashire and South Cumbria, our PCN consists of two practices, Ash Trees Surgery and Park View Surgery, where we prioritise exceptional patient care and collaborative teamwork.

As part of our services across Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS), we are implementing Mental Health Practitioner roles across the Primary Care Networks to support GPs with “on the day” mental health assessment and support for patients.

These roles are designated under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). They provide an opportunity for better joint working across primary care and adult secondary care mental health systems and will make it easier for patients to obtain the help they need.

Why Join Us?

* Supportive Environment: Work alongside a friendly and well‑established team, including paramedics, physiotherapists, social prescribers, health and wellbeing coaches, general practice assistants, pharmacy team and GPs.
* Career Development: This role offers excellent opportunities for service improvement and career growth, allowing you to make a real impact in our community. Supportive and structured mentoring.
* Beautiful Location: Enjoy working in a scenic area with easy access to the M6 for convenient travel.

This is an exciting role for someone who is proactive and passionate about innovation and providing a high‑quality holistic approach to the care of people who have been identified as in need of mental health support in a primary care setting. We are developing our integrated community services and look forward to welcoming you to a hardworking and dedicated team.
