This will be a hybrid role with travel to our project sites.
In this role you will be supporting the full life cycle of our projects from development and design, through to construction and commissioning You will manage external and internal design teams to ensure buildable designs that mitigate construction and operational risks, execute energy savings and deliver solutions on time.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Ownership of the customer journey from development opportunity to the completion of technical delivery.
2. Acting as the single point of contact with major clients for all technical status and coordination topics.
3. Overseeing a portfolio of projects in the region varying from £100k feasibility opportunities through to £30m energy performance contracts.
4. The upkeep and management of all internal and external facing project action trackers.
5. The management of survey and design programmes in conjunction with the Project Managers and external planning resource.
6. The recording and management of technical risks as part of the overall project risk management process.
7. The coordination of internal technical resources to produce designs, review external consultant deliverables, analyse options against cost and safety considerations, and deliver designs to the correct scope and detail.
8. The coordination of technical resources and information to resolve project challenges, produce workable solutions, and sustain project momentum.
9. The development of client opportunities for additional revenue to formal proposals, liaising with project, technical, commercial, and procurement colleagues.
10. Reporting of the statuses, actions, and escalations to the regional Project Director.
11. The management of external design consultants to produce designs for major packages such as heat pump, boiler, chiller, energy centre, borehole, and high voltage infrastructure designs.
12. The coordination and alignment of technical packages and design outputs to remove gaps and omissions from being carried into tendering and construction.
13. The high-level commercial oversight of the managed works, including risks and opportunities, handling variations, and basic progress reporting.
14. The provision and coordination of construction stage support to facilitate progress, resolve clashes and issues, and manage change.

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
15. 5 years plus in M&E design in a project delivery environment.
16. Proven hands-on experience working on engineering projects from conception through to delivery, working with large scale heating systems (i.e. 2-10MWt) and technologies such as heat pumps, boilers, CHP, chillers, heat exchangers and air handling units.
17. Planning and organisation skills to be able to manage multiple elements and projects at once.
18. An awareness of regulatory compliance associated with industrial projects, including planning, building control, fire, environmental permitting, noise assessments and electrical connections.
19. Exposure to energy saving measures and initiatives from conception through to delivery, such as building fabric (i.e. roofing, cladding, windows), solar PV, LED lighting, ECDC fans, and BMS upgrades.
20. Programme management experience.
