An opportunity has arisen for a full-time, experienced, and competent H&S Advisor at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust oversees over sixty premises, including in-patient mental health buildings, GP practices, and Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup.
We seek a highly motivated and committed individual with H&S experience in a designated H&S role to join our specialist NHS Trust. The postholder will be an integral part of the H&S and Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work closely with team members from various professions and with wider risk teams to coordinate the Trust's Health & Safety and Risk agenda.
Previous experience with risk management procedures and Datix is desirable but not essential. Candidates should possess excellent IT and communication skills and experience working with structured annual work plans and strategic vision.
In collaboration with our Estates and Facilities department and H&S Team, you will be an excellent communicator, capable of training multidisciplinary team members, partners, and contractors on risks, controls, and complex procedures. You will assist in providing assurance to the Trust board regarding health and safety status, working within the team to foster a positive safety culture.

* Provide competent advice to all Oxleas staff on current Health and Safety legislation, initiatives, guidelines, and Trust policies, including safe systems of work and procedures.
* Be a ‘competent person’ for the Trust in Health and Safety matters as required.
* Undertake an annual programme of Health and Safety compliance audits across Trust teams, including scheduling and ensuring timely completion.
* Ensure all audits are evidence-based, with appropriate remedial actions assigned to address non-conformities and promote continuous improvement.
* Promote a positive Health and Safety culture, ensuring all work prioritizes the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and contractors.
* Encourage ownership of health and safety and risk management throughout the Trust, working with partner organizations to maintain compliant standards.
