Apricus Resourcing is working with an award-winning, independent healthcare supplier that is looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician for an ongoing contract role within one of the prisons they operate in Humber, Yorkshire. The role is based with a client who delivers a range of healthcare services on behalf of the NHS, Local Authority Public Health services, and other partners.
Within your role, you will work within a busy medicines management department, assisting with reconciliation tasks and liaising with Primary Care and General Practitioners to optimize patient care. You will also have senior responsibilities for controlled drug stock control and management.
Your main duties will include supporting the chief pharmacist and the medicines management team, liaising with healthcare professionals both internally and externally, and assisting in delivering training to prison healthcare staff and GPs to ensure high standards of medicine optimization services across the organization.
Duties for the role include:
1. Establish effective working relationships with the pharmacy team, GPs, non-medical prescribers, and other healthcare team members to promote prison healthcare objectives.
2. Represent the organization at prison-related public awareness events to promote a partnership approach to medicines optimization.
3. Assist with reconciliation tasks.
4. Work as a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, building relationships with key stakeholders, including external agencies, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective health and social care.

To be considered for this role, candidates should have a BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences, an accredited technician checking qualification, knowledge of pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation, substance misuse knowledge, and at least 2 years of experience working in a prison or hospital setting. Prison clearance is ideally required.
The working hours are from 07:30 to 20:30, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
