What You’ll Do
The Check Manager Support Mechanic supports the Check Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting him/her in delivering aircraft maintenance input in line with the agreed plan. Act as the first line interface with the Customer for any over and above tasks ensuring that they are signed off by the on-site rep prior to the work commencing and/or prior to any over-run.
Responsibilities
* Acts as a consultant on technical and airworthiness matters on behalf of Willis Aviation Services with internal and external suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies.
* Deal with any service bulletin/ additional data required by the shop floor needed from the rep.
* Assist the Check Manager in delivering aircraft maintenance input in line with the agreed plan.
* Monitor the check budget at Task card level and ensure overrunning tasks are re-estimated by Zonal Technicians on a regular basis.
* Create and Send O&A sheet daily in order to capture approval of man hours as early as possible.
* Monitor hours from booking report to spot any potential overruns on O&A’s or any booking errors which may affect O&A’s.
* Act as the first line interface with the Customer for any over and above tasks ensuring that they are signed off by the on-site rep prior to the work commencing and/or prior to any over-run.
* Assist with check reporting as requested by the Check Manager and Customer Liaison.
* Update and send the Daily Status and Customer Status Report on behalf of the Check Manager in readiness for issue prior to 09:00, detailing daily man-hours, non-billable hours (indirect), zonal completion percentages, NRC list and card closure data.
* Coordinating contracted and sub-contracted activities to maintain project timelines.
* Liaise with all third-party working parties to ensure PO’s, purchase requests and work is carried out.
* Act as a point of contact for third parties on site.
* Be a part of the daily progress meeting with the customer.
Requirements
* Knowledge of at least one aircraft, engine, product type design, mechanical & electrical systems, structures, materials & supporting ground systems. (Desirable)
* Effective leadership, management, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence others.
* Minimum of 5-years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance or continuing airworthiness control environment.
* Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
* Technical knowledge representative of the products/types listed in WASL MOE (e.g. AML Type Ratings, General Familiarization courses and/or related experience).
* Comprehensive knowledge (training) and understanding of Part-145 and any associated regulatory requirements.
* Comprehensive knowledge (training) and understanding of Maintenance Organization Expositions (MOE).
* Knowledge of maintenance standards.
* Initial Human Factors (HF) training.
* Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) training.
* Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) training.
* English Language proficiency (Written & Spoken).
