The Role
We are seeking an experienced EDS (Electrical Distribution System) Project Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electrical wiring systems for High Voltage & Low Voltage EE platforms. The role involves overseeing system architecture, harness design, EDS Make to Print drawings and cross-functional coordination to ensure robust and compliant electrical distribution across vehicle systems.
Areas of Responsibility
* Lead the design and development of electrical distribution systems for LV & HV applications.
* Define system architecture, wiring harness layout, and component specifications.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of EDS with vehicle systems.
* Review and validate electrical schematics, 2D/3D harness designs, and BOMs.
* Ensure compliance with automotive standards and functional safety requirements.
* DFMEAs and technical specification writing for EDS systems.
* Support issue resolution, change management, and supplier coordination throughout the development lifecycle.
* Ensure DFA, DFM & DFS.
* Prototype vehicle build; ensure learnings are captured for production vehicle build.
* Ensure EE component mechanical packaging ensuring vehicle’s fit and function requirements.
* EDS Component & systems testing, validation and verification (DVP support).
* Build issue management related to EDS and Electrical components.
* Regular project updates and reporting to Customer side managers and internal senior teams.
Experience / Knowledge
* Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering.
* Extensive experience in EDS design and development, preferably in EV or hybrid platforms.
* Strong understanding of electrical architecture, wiring harness design, and vehicle integration.
* Familiarity with automotive standards (ISO, IEC, etc.) and functional safety principles.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional collaboration.
* Proficient in EDS CAD software like CATIA V5 EDS Workbench, Arcadia, Capital Harness, PREEvision.
* Proficient in documentation and reporting using MS Office.
