We are now looking for an experienced Process Chemist to join our growing team!
This is an exciting role which will play a key role in scaling up new formulas from laboratory to production scale.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collaborate with the Product development team to scale up new formulas from laboratory to production scale, ensuring successful translation of concepts into commercially viable products.
* Conduct research and development activities to enhance existing products or create new formulas, leveraging your expertise in chemistry and knowledge of industry trends and consumer demands.
* Perform comprehensive process analysis, identifying areas for improvement, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions to meet production goals.
* To develop and optimise formulations for a wide range of products, including but not limited to personal care, hair and oral care items.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Procurement and Manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of process improvements and quality control measures.
* To conduct thorough chemical analysis and testing of raw materials, intermediate products and finished goods to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and suppliers to evaluate and optimize the performance of raw materials and chemicals used in production.
* To implement and maintain quality control protocols, perform stability testing and troubleshoot any issues related to product quality and stability.
* To manage batch manufacturing record (BMR) for formulations.
* Maintain accurate records of samples, process parameters and results.
* To maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, test results and formulations. Prepare and update product specifications, safety data sheets and regulatory documentation.
EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Cosmetic science or a related field
* Proven experience as a Process Chemist or in a similar role, specifically within the personal care, hair care, or skincare industry.
* Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, raw materials and regulatory requirements.
* Strong background in process development and optimisation, with experience in scaling up laboratory formulas to production scale.
* Comprehensive knowledge of chemical reactions and formulation techniques relevant to personal care, hair care, and skincare products.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the manufacturing of personal care products, such as FDA regulations and GMP guidelines.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and identify areas for improvement.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and staying updated on industry advancements.
