Automation Maintenance Engineer
Location: Warrington Mail Centre, Orion Boulevard, Warrington, WA5 3XA
Salary: £53,195 per annum (≈£54,000) plus night shift allowance, weekend supplements, 22.5 days annual leave, scheduled pension scheme.
Contract & Working Hours
Permanent, full-time 40 hours per week. Shift rotation system includes early, late, and night shifts as detailed below. Flexibility for overtime and shift pattern changes may be required to meet 24/7 operational needs.
* Early: Monday‑Friday 06:00‑14:15, Saturday‑Sunday 06:00‑18:00
* Late: Monday‑Friday 14:00‑22:15
* Night: Sunday 18:00‑Monday 06:15; Monday 22:00‑Saturday 06:15
Responsibilities
* Keep automation assets performing at their best through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
* Drive continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation, focusing on enhancing machinery performance within the hub/mail centre.
* Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and team leaders, completing reports and logging faults.
* Diagnose and resolve automation breakdowns quickly to keep operations flowing.
* Monitor performance and work with stakeholders to boost output.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Experience maintaining automation equipment, ideally with PLC knowledge.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Proactive team player who can also work independently.
* Full UK manual driving licence (occasionally required for travel to other sites).
