Information Assistant Do you have experience of administration in information law and looking to provide a comprehensive administration service to the Information and Data Protection Officer? We are seeking an individual to start as soon as possible to support a busy team at Bridgend Council with the opportunity to work fully remote from the comfort of your own home. Temporary Assignment Hourly Rate: £12.80 Monday - Friday - 9am-5pm Location: Bridgend (Working from home) What You'll Do: Act as a first point of contact for telephone enquiries. Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests: Log and acknowledge receipt of all requests; Determine the appropriate action needed for each case, liaising with the Information and Data Protection Officer and/or Legal Services for advice as necessary; Progress-chase responses to individual requests for information from Directorates/Service areas in order to satisfy the requisite time-frames; Maintain up-to-date information concerning each request; Monitor and record all requests; Draft and send responses to Information requests as appropriate; Assist the Information and Data Protection Officer in dealing with FOI Appeals and Complaints from the Information Commissioner's Office and the Ombudsman's Office. Corporate Complaints: Log and acknowledge receipt of all complaints; Maintain up-to-date information concerning each complaint; Monitor and record all complaints; Progress-chase responses to individual complaints from Directorates/Service areas in order to satisfy the requisite time-frames; Assist the Information and Data Protection Officer in dealing with complaints. Collating statistical data for complaints/FOIs/Information requests to inform the Annual Report. Supervise the work of the Legal Assistant and assist in the provision of administrative support to others within the team as appropriate. What We're Looking For: 6 months of experience within information law 6 months of experience of administration Legal case management experience Experience of using computerised systems and databases, including word processing, spreadsheets and internet Good and accurate numeracy and literacy skills along with competent keyboard and IT skills Good standard of education equivalent to NVQ Level 3 Strong communication and customer service skills Effectively maintain confidentiality at all time Ready to Join the Team?
