Job Title: Care Support Assistant
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Care Support Assistants to work in schools across Sunderland.
This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional needs, helping them with their daily routines, personal development, and classroom engagement. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Care Support Assistant Responsibilities:
* Support students with additional care and learning needs throughout the school day
* Assist students with classroom activities and daily routines
* Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
* Help students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
* Support students’ emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet students’ individual needs
* Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
* Support behaviour management strategies where appropriate
Requirements of a Care Support Assistant:
* Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable
* Caring, patient, and supportive approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A genuine passion for supporting students’ wellbeing and development
* Relevant care, support work, or education experience is beneficial
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
