Overview

Are you ambitious, driven, and ready to lead? Lidl’s Logistics Trainee Programme is your fast-track to becoming a Regional Logistics Manager. This is a pivotal leadership role within a global retail powerhouse, who are constantly driving innovation and sustainability.

As a trainee, you’ll rotate through key logistics areas—Goods In, Selections, and Transport—learning the ins and outs of our distribution centre operations. Over 18 months, you’ll lead, develop teams, drive performance, and uphold our high standards. You’ll be mentored by top industry experts and have the chance to explore different areas of the company throughout your journey with us.

What’s in it for you?

Phase 1: Logistics Trainee

Begin your journey with an 18-month structured training programme, combining hands-on experience and real responsibility from day one - all while earning £41,750.

Phase 2: Unlock the Advanced Phase

Upon successful completion of the initial programme, you can unlock a 12-month advanced phase as a Trainee Regional Logistics Manager, starting at £50,000.

Phase 3: Regional Logistics Manager

Following continued success, you’ll transition into a permanent Regional Logistics Manager with a clear salary pathway £68,000 after 3 years.


What you\'ll do

* Leading warehouse teams to deliver top performance and maintain a positive, motivated work environment.
* Getting involved in daily operations, setting the standard by leading from the front.
* Using IT systems to manage logistics processes and track performance.
* Monitoring KPIs like inventory accuracy, productivity, and quality standards.
* Running quality checks and ensuring products are rotated correctly.

If successful and you progress to Trainee Regional Logistics Manager, you’ll take on bigger responsibilities:

* Managing and developing your team through training, mentoring, and regular feedback.
* Overseeing department performance, focusing on key metrics like write-offs, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
* Driving continuous improvement and helping your team grow and succeed.


What you\'ll need

* A minimum 2.1 degree.
* Proven ability to lead teams, motivate others, and achieve results through collaboration and clear communication.
* Experience or strong interest in warehouse operations, including stock management, transport, and strategic planning.
* Confident in presenting ideas, giving feedback, and engaging with colleagues at all levels.
* A disciplined and structured approach to project management, administration, and day-to-day operations.
* You’re organised, flexible, and resilient, with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in logistics and leadership.
* Eager to make a real impact in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.


What you\'ll receive

* We offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl
* £41,750 starting salary for a Logistics Trainee (Fixed 18-month Programme).
* Upon successful completion of the initial programme, you can unlock a 12-month advanced phase as a Trainee Regional Logistics Manager, starting at £50,000.
* Permanent role offered as a Regional Logistics Manager following continued success, with a salary pathway rising to £68,000 after 3 years.
