An experienced people leader with HR background Clear strategic thinker and planner Ability to work collaboratively and influence at a senior level Knowledge of employee engagement approaches and models Knowledge of pay, benefit and recognition models and best practice Knowledge of employment law and risks relating to pay and benefits Research and analytical skills; able to distil quantitative and qualitative data into simple and understandable insight Ability to communicate persuasively, verbally and in writing across a wide range of audiences at all levels across the organisation Leadership strength and tenacity to deliver change well and win hearts and minds Head of Engagement & RewardYou’ll join the People Engagement senior management team, part of the wider People Directorate, playing a key role in creating an environment where 14,000 colleagues and 44,000 volunteers feel valued, heard and supported. Collaboration sits at the heart of how we work, and you’ll partner regularly with directors, senior leaders, People Business Partners and experts across our organisation. This role is both strategic and hands-on, offering the chance to influence national-level decisions while staying close to the people and insights that shape our culture. You'll feel the difference you are making. Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interviewFor this interim period, you’ll lead the team to deliver the final stages of our Grade & Pay Structure Project, to develop and implement pay framework options, to design and develop new approaches to recognition, to deliver an annual pay award and to guide and deliver our cyclical approach to listening through the people engagement survey. You’ll work closely alongside the Reward & Recognition Manager, to influence senior stakeholders and ensure we continue to build a fair, engaging and fulfilling environment for everyone who works or volunteers at the National Trust.Leadership is at the heart of this opportunity, during which you'll actively support the development of key members of the team. Post holder objectives will focus on team and strategic leadership, stakeholder management, forward planning and team development. Knowledge and experience of reward, benefits, recognition and engagement will be important, but deep technical expertise is not required.
