We are looking for an experienced CNC Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our machining department on the day shift and support improvements across our CNC operations. Whilst we have experienced in-house Millers, we are lacking an experienced Turner to add to our expertise.
Debar Ltd manufactures precision components and hardware used in aluminium bifold door and glazing systems. Our CNC department machines a wide range of aluminium and steel components that form part of our hardware systems supplied to customers across the UK and international markets.
This role would suit a hands-on CNC engineer who enjoys improving machining processes while leading and developing a team of operators and setters.
Debar currently operates a 24-hour shift pattern across 5 days with an early finish on a Friday. The working time of this position is Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 18:00 (48 hour week total, however a 40-hour week could also be an option – 10 hour days).
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise daily CNC machining operations (currently approx. 12 staff) across 18 machines
• Allocate work across machines and operators to meet production schedules
• Support CNC program optimisation alongside the programming team
• Improve cycle times, set-ups and machining processes
• Lead and develop CNC operators and setters
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety and efficiency within the machining department
Technical Requirements
• Strong CNC machining background especially with CNC Turning
• CNC programming knowledge advantageous
• Experience working with HAAS (VF-2SS), HURCO (VM10i), STAR LATHES (SB-20R type G) or similar CNC machines
• Ability to read engineering drawings and tolerances
• Tooling selection and machining optimisation experience

• Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling strategies
• Practical problem-solving skills
• Interest in improving machining methods and productivity
• Ability to develop and mentor members of the CNC team
