We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our Estates Technical Services (ETS) team to assist with the provision of a professional technical and operational service to Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and all contracted partner organisations within the Estates Technical Services (ETS) function.
Main duties of the job
To manage the operational maintenance team in the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of the Hospital estate. Assist with managing the operational team resource levels, technical competencies, service quality, timeliness of delivery, emergency response, individual’s development, team health & wellbeing.
Responsible in conjunction with the Senior Operations Manager for ensuring the operational team recognise, adopt, and adhere to all Trust policies, procedures, and systems in place to manage Health and Safety and ensure a safe environment.

Essential criteria
1. •ONC/HNC Level qualification in relevant field, or equivalent experience.
2. •Qualifications / specialist knowledge of building structures / engineering services
3. •Practical experience of undertaking the physical Mechanical or Electrical aspects of the Operations teams day to day work supported by an appropriate apprenticeship or formal training
4. The post holder must be able to demonstrate management/Supervisory experience in a large multi service organisation and a proven successful track record delivering within timescales and budget in a relevant building services environment.
5. Experience of managing and participation in an on call rota system.
6. Required to manage conflicting demands and provide judgements and decisions over a range of complex operational estates maintenance technical issues, taking into account legislation, Health & Safety and available resources.
7. Proven ability to plan, organise and implement a range of complex activities; requiring formulation, coordination and adjustment. Formulates long-term maintenance programmes and emergency contingency plans for critical services
Desirable criteria
8. Demonstrate knowledge and experience to Post graduate course equivalent level and physical application in a building, mechanical or electrical engineering discipline
