Credit Controller Maidstone, Kent, ME14 5FTPermanent | 37.5 hours per weekSalary £28,000 per annumAbout the Role We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our Business Finance team based in Maidstone. This is a key role responsible for managing debt recovery across the organisation, working with a variety of payors including PMI, self-pay and NHS .You will play a vital part in reducing aged debt, ensuring timely payment, and maintaining excellent relationships with patients, insurers, NHS trusts and internal teams.Key Responsibilities Actively manage and reduce aged debt across all payor types (PMI, Self-Pay and NHS)Recover outstanding debts and ensure payments are received within agreed timescalesMaintain accurate patient account records, including detailed notes of calls and correspondenceSubmit EDI files to Healthcode and resolve failed claims through validation and mappingProcess refunds, credits and adjustments accurately and efficientlyPost and allocate payments for third-party financing arrangementsProduce and issue debtor letters within agreed timelinesRaise Out of Area invoices for NHS trusts and follow up for timely paymentLiaise with insurers, NHS trusts, patients and internal departments to resolve queriesHandle incoming telephone calls and emails promptly and professionallyAbout You Essential Experience & SkillsProven experience in a credit control or debt recovery roleExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalA proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiencyDesirableIntermediate Excel skillsExperience working within a healthcare or clinical environmentQualifications GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, including English and MathsPersonal Attributes Confident decision-maker with good self-awarenessFlexible, adaptable and highly motivatedStrong team player who can work effectively with diverse stakeholdersProfessional, courteous and approachable when dealing with patients and familiesWhy KIMS HospitalAt KIMS Hospital we understand our people are our biggest asset and as such we are focused on ensuring they feel happy and valued both in and out of the workplace.
